Cats: Cats are dewormed and receive an upper respiratory vaccine and a Rabies vaccine. We test for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. If the test is negative, the cat will be vaccinated for Feline Leukemia as well.
Dogs: Dogs are dewormed and receive a Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvo/Parainfluenza and a Rabies vaccine. We tailor your pet’s vaccines to their individual needs by offering other vaccines like Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and Lymevax. We also test for heartworms.
Puppies: When you bring a puppy in for his/her first exam and vaccines, we will take time to go over how to socialize your puppy to be the happy pet that you desire. Socialization means that we will begin to get the puppy used to being touched and handled. We will cover topics such as diet, house and leash training, coat care, etc. Learning these care and behavior tips early will help you enjoy your puppy.
Spay/Neuter, Soft-tissue Surgery, and Videoscope-guided procedures
What to expect when you bring your pet in for surgery: your pet will receive pre-anesthetic blood work, so you should not give them any food after midnight before the appointment. They will be put under general anesthesia for the procedure. At this point, Dr. Steele may take x-rays, if needed. Pets who have had spay/neuter surgery stay overnight for observation. After a spay, your pet will return 10-14 days later to have the sutures removed.
We work with various humane societies through programs offered by the Georgia Department of Agriculture and Spay Georgia to offer you solutions for low-cost spays and neuters. Please, call us for more information.
We offer soft-tissue surgery which covers any surgery that does not involve broken bones. We also offer videoscope-guided procedures. The videoscope allows Dr. Steele to look at problems in your pet’s ears, nose, and throat in a minimally invasive way.
It is important for the health of your pet to have regular dental care. Here is an overview of what you can expect when you bring your pet in for dental care. In order to have their teeth cleaned, your pet will be put under general anesthesia. We recommend that they have pre-anesthesia blood work done. Your pet’s teeth will then be cleaned and polished and Dr. Steele will do a thorough dental exam. If any problems are found, Dr. Steele can take x-rays or do extractions as necessary.
Boarding is available for cats, dogs, and other small furry or feathery family members. All pets who board with us must be up-to-date on their appropriate vaccines and free of parasites. You are welcome to bring your pet’s special food or toys to make your pet comfortable and you can rest assured they will be in good hands.

Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitation
We are proud to be licensed in wildlife rehabilitation. Law requires licensure for anyone who wants to provide rehabilitation to wild animals, which takes special knowledge and experience.
We provide rehabilitation to a variety of wildlife, and we have special expertise with owls, hawks, and squirrels.
Wildlife rehabilitators work alongside veterinarians to assess and identify injuries or illnesses. Part of the rehabilitation process includes basic first aid as well as physical therapy.
Because of the differences between wild and domestic animals, rehabilitators must have a mastery over the knowledge about particular species and their care. This includes things like nutrition, behavioral issues, and caging.
To learn more about wildlife rehabilitation, please contact us today. We would be happy to speak with you and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Socialization is an essential part of a young dog’s life. By acclimating them to several types of sights, sounds, and smells, you equip them with the social skills needed to interact with the world in a positive way.
We are happy to provide socialization consultations to pet owners that are seeking to socialize their dog properly. We can discuss with you the ideal way to socialize your dog and develop a plan to do so.
It is very important to socialize your dog at the right time. If you wait too long, their personality and demeanor could already be shaped and it will be much more difficult to correct negative behaviors.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us today. We would be happy to set up a socialization consultation at a time that is convenient for you.
Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the philosophy that the universe and the body are opposing forces. The constant flow of energy keeps them balanced. When the flow of energy is blocked, illness will occur. Acupuncture therapy will release blocked energy, resolve the pain, and improve sleep, digestive functions, and sense of well-being.
Our qualified and helpful staff will work with your pet to ensure that there is no more energy blockage and make sure that your pet is receiving all of the amazing benefits from acupuncture.
